📖 Scripture
“And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified" — Romans 8:30 (ESV)
Walking with God is not merely about a spiritual routine—it is a journey of transformation that ultimately leads to glorification. While many focus on the immediate blessings of walking with God—peace, guidance, protection—there is a much greater reality that awaits us: eternal glory.
In Scripture, glorification refers to the final step in our salvation, when believers are transformed completely into the likeness of Christ and brought into God’s eternal presence. It is the fulfillment of God’s promise to His children, a future that goes beyond death, time, and pain.
This eternal glory helps us to look beyond the challenges we may face on this side of eternity. As shared yesterday, Jesus did not promise a smooth journey but told us to expect hardship and suffering. Yet in the end, there is a glory that awaits you—greater than the pain, richer than the loss, and eternal in weight.
Elijah, a prophet of fire and miracles, but also a man who battled fear, fatigue, and depression. After his great victory on Mount Carmel, he fled in despair, asking God to take his life. Yet despite these human struggles, Elijah continued to walk with God. And in the end, he didn’t die—he was taken to heaven in a whirlwind, escorted by chariots of fire (2 Kings 2:11).
And then there’s Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, yet largely unknown compared to Paul or Peter. In Acts 6–7, Stephen’s bold witness before a hostile crowd cost him his life. But just before he died, he looked up and saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God, welcoming him home. Stephen’s glorification was not wrapped in applause but in a heavenly vision and a divine embrace.
Whether in fire like Elijah or in suffering like Stephen, the destination is the same for those who walk with God—glory.
Walking with God today means choosing obedience, cultivating intimacy, and living with an eternal mindset. Every act of faith, every surrender, and every moment of worship is shaping us into people ready for glory.
Are you living for just the now, or are you walking with eternity in view? This world is fleeting, but the one to come is everlasting. The benefits of walking with God don’t end at the grave; they begin to unfold in full after it.
Stephen’s life shows us that the glory of God doesn’t require fame—just faith. Walk with God in the quiet moments. Heaven will one day testify on your behalf.
🌅 Closing Thoughts
Walking with God is not a wasted journey. It may cost us something now—comfort, conformity, or control—but it brings the ultimate reward: glorification. Let your life be marked not just by religious routine, but by a deep, consistent, and faithful walk with the Living God. The One who walks with you now will one day welcome you into glory.
🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You for the eternal hope You give. Help me to walk with You daily—not seeking applause, but seeking Your face. Like Stephen, give me boldness in trials and peace in persecution. Let my life point to Heaven, and my heart stay fixed on Your glory. One day, may I see You standing in welcome. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
