📖 Scripture
“For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”
💭 Devotional Thoughts
Waiting is one of the hardest parts of the Christian journey. It tests our faith, stretches our patience, and refines our trust in God. Yet, the “waiting room of God” is not a place of abandonment—it's a place of divine preparation.
Recently, I attended a naming ceremony for a child who arrived after many years of prayer. The joy in that room wasn’t just about the baby—it was a testimony to the faithfulness of God. It reminded me of Abraham and Sarah. For years, they waited for the promise of a child. At times, they doubted, even laughed. But God had not forgotten. In the fullness of time, Isaac was born—not a moment too early or too late. God was cooking something greater than they could imagine.
In Luke 2:36-38, Anna, a widow who served in the temple for decades, worshiping and fasting day and night. She waited a lifetime to see the promised Messiah. While most overlooked her, God did not. Her faithfulness was rewarded when she saw baby Jesus in the temple and spoke of Him to all who were waiting for redemption. She teaches us that even if the world forgets us in the waiting, God remembers—and He honours those who wait with faith.
When you're in God’s waiting room, it may feel like delay. But from heaven’s view, it’s right on time. While we see silence, God sees preparation. While we feel forgotten, God is forging something eternal.
Are you in the waiting room of God right now?
Are you waiting for healing, breakthrough, marriage, purpose, provision, or restoration?
Ask yourself:
Am I trusting that God's delay is not denial?
Am I using this season to grow, reflect, and prepare for what’s coming?
What has God already done that I can be thankful for while I wait?
God never forgets His promises. The waiting room is sacred ground—a holy space where our roots grow deep. It’s not punishment. It’s preparation. Don’t rush the process. God’s timing is not just about when—it’s about who you’re becoming while you wait.
Lord, help me to trust in Your perfect timing. When I feel delayed, remind me that You are never late. When I am weary, give me renewed strength. Let me not compare my journey to others, but rejoice in the path You’ve carved out just for me. I surrender my impatience and embrace the sacred work You are doing in this season. Amen.
