📖 Scripture
“He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” — Colossians 1:17 (NIV)
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” — Psalm 19:1 (NIV)
Yesterday, an all-female crew embarked on a brief journey into space—a ten-minute flight that may seem short by earthly standards but opened up an eternal perspective. One of the astronauts remarked on an “unknown power” that holds the universe. And when they returned, some bowed, possibly to that very unknown force.
But to us, that force is not unknown. He is the Known King—Jesus Christ, the Creator and Sustainer of all things. The One who not only formed the stars but also calls them by name (Isaiah 40:26). Every glimpse into the cosmos is not just a scientific marvel; it's a divine echo of the King of Kings.
Now, you don’t need to go to space to encounter the awe of God.
Look out the window of an airplane—He is there above the clouds.
Stand on a ship in the vastness of the ocean—His hand is in every wave.
Gaze into a quiet river or a still lake—His peace flows through them.
Watch the aurora dance in the sky—or simply look up on a clear night.
Wherever you are, creation shouts His glory.
In Acts 17, Paul stood in Athens and addressed people who worshiped an "unknown god." He boldly declared to them:
“What you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.” (Acts 17:23)
Like Paul, we too have the privilege of revealing the Known King to a world grasping for meaning, even among the stars.
Have you ever experienced a moment that left you in awe of creation? Whether it was the night sky, a mountaintop view, or the birth of a child—what you saw was not random. It was the craftsmanship of the Known King.
Do you find yourself surrounded by people who admire “something greater” but don’t know who He is? That’s your invitation to gently reveal Jesus—not just as a concept, but as the Living King.
When was the last time you simply bowed in awe—not out of tradition, but because you truly saw Him for who He is? The more we seek Him, the more perspectives we gain of His glory.
Every time we look up, down, or within—we see yet another angle of the same King. The more we explore, the more He reveals.
The astronauts may have touched space, but they also touched eternity in that moment of awe. What they called "unknown," we know by name—Jesus. He doesn’t just hold the stars; He holds your soul.
You don’t have to leave Earth to witness God’s majesty. Whether in the skies, the seas, or the silence of your own heart, the Known King is there. Let us never lose our wonder.
Father God, you are not a distant mystery; You are the Known King—the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer. Thank You for revealing Yourself through creation and through Christ. Let our hearts never grow numb to Your majesty. Open our eyes to see You not just in space, but in every sunrise, every breeze, every star. And when the world bows to the “unknown,” may we lovingly point them to You, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
