đź“ť Devotional Thoughts
The image of God carrying us on eagles’ wings is one of majesty, strength, and mystery. It’s not just poetic—it’s deeply personal. God is showing us that in life’s fiercest moments, when we should have crumbled, He was the one lifting us above it all.
Eagles don’t flutter through storms—they rise above them. That’s what God does with us. He lifts us above enemy attacks, above fiery trials, above overwhelming situations—oftentimes without us even realizing it.
Just like in the old illustration of the man walking through a desert with no footprints behind him, it is in those moments when we don’t see progress, when we feel nothing but heat and wilderness, that God is gently carrying us. There is something sacred about those times when you can’t see how you’re standing—but you still are. That’s the evidence of being held by unseen wings.
There’s hardly a more vivid picture of being carried in a supernatural way than what happened in Daniel 3. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown into a fiery furnace—bound, condemned, and certain to die. The fire was so intense it killed the soldiers who threw them in.
But inside that furnace, they didn’t burn. Why? Because God was with them—walking in the fire with them. They were sustained by something their enemies couldn’t see or understand. They were being carried, not out of the fire, but through it. That’s the miracle.
Not only did they come out unharmed, but they didn’t even smell like smoke. When God carries you on unseen wings, even fire cannot touch you. The heat may rise, the pressure may build, but you will not be consumed.
And here’s what’s even more powerful—the fourth man in the fire was so real, so divine, that even a pagan king had to acknowledge, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire… and the fourth looks like a son of the gods!”
God didn’t remove the fire—He carried them through it.
🔍 Practical Reflection
You might be in a “furnace” right now—under pressure, under attack, or facing intense trials. But you don’t have to fear. God’s unseen wings are with you. You may not see how you’ll come out, but the truth is: you’re not in there alone.
Ask yourself:
Am I focusing more on the fire than on the One in the fire with me?
Can I recognize the invisible strength that’s keeping me safe?
Am I willing to trust the wings of God even when I can’t feel them flapping?
đź’ˇ Closing Thoughts
God doesn’t always take us out of hard things—but He always carries us through them. His wings are unseen, but their effect is undeniable. When we walk through fires and deserts, and still stand—without smoke, without ash—it’s because we’ve been carried by the One who never fails.
🙏 Prayer
Father, thank You for carrying me through fires I should not have survived. Thank You for being my strength when I have none and for surrounding me with Your presence in the hardest places. Help me to remember that I am never alone, never forsaken, and always carried—even when I can’t see it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
