Scripture: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full." — John 10:10 (NIV)

Devotional Thoughts

The enemy never has good plans for you. Satan’s mission is clear: to steal your joy, kill your destiny, and destroy your relationship with God. He works through deception, temptation, and compromise. When you open the door to the enemy—whether through sin, disobedience, or forming ungodly alliances—you give him access to your life.

Samson is a prime example of what happens when someone cooperates with the enemy. Chosen by God as a mighty deliverer, Samson had extraordinary strength. However, he repeatedly fostered alliances with the Philistines, especially through his relationship with Delilah. Despite knowing her intentions were harmful, Samson entertained her deceit. His alliance with the enemy led to his downfall—his strength was taken, his eyes were gouged out, and he became a prisoner of those he was meant to defeat (Judges 16:4-21).

But even in his lowest moment, Samson turned back to God. While bound in the Philistine temple, he prayed, “Sovereign Lord, remember me. Please, God, strengthen me just once more” (Judges 16:28). God, in His mercy, restored Samson’s strength, and he destroyed the temple, killing thousands of his enemies. Unfortunately, he perished along with them. His story is both a warning and a reminder—cooperating with the enemy leads to destruction, but God’s grace is always available to those who repent.

Practical Reflection

Many times, the enemy comes subtly, offering what seems good but ultimately leads to destruction. This could be in the form of:

Are there areas in your life where you are cooperating with the enemy? Have you ignored God’s warnings or allowed sin to linger? The time to break free is now!

Closing Thoughts

Samson’s story is a warning: partnering with the enemy always leads to loss. But there is hope—Jesus came to give abundant life. Jesus came so that we could have abundant life, free from the traps of the enemy. If you find yourself entangled in sinful compromises, remember that it is never too late to turn back to God. He is full of grace and ready to restore you. Seek His guidance, cut off anything that draws you away from Him, and walk in the victory He has given you!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I refuse to cooperate with the enemy in any area of my life. Open my eyes to any alliances, habits, or compromises that are leading me away from You. Give me the strength to break free and stand firm in Your truth. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
