Scripture:"But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." – 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
Devotional Thoughts
God has never needed much to perform the miraculous. He often takes what seems small and insignificant and transforms it into something great. This principle is powerfully demonstrated in the story of Jesus feeding over 5,000 people with just five loaves and two fish (Matthew 14:13-21). In human terms, it was barely enough for one boy, yet in the hands of Jesus, it became a feast that left leftovers. This reminds us that God doesn’t need abundance to do His work—He simply needs our willingness to trust Him with what we have.
Another example is Gideon’s battle (Judges 7). God intentionally reduced Gideon’s army from 32,000 to just 300 men before leading them to victory over a vast enemy force. This wasn’t a mistake—it was a declaration that God’s strength, not human ability, secures victory. Gideon was hesitant, full of doubt, yet God used him to achieve what seemed impossible. In the same way, God calls us not based on our qualifications but on His power working through us. If we feel inadequate, we are in the perfect position for God to move!
Practical Reflection
Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough resources, strength, or qualifications? Remember, God specializes in using the little you have to accomplish great things.
Identify an area of your life where you feel insufficient. Offer it to God and trust Him to work through your limitations.
Instead of waiting until you feel “ready,” step out in faith now. Like the boy with the loaves and fish, give what you have and let God multiply it.
Reflect on past times when God has taken something small in your life and turned it into something significant. Let this encourage you to trust Him more.
Closing Thoughts
God is not looking for people with perfect qualifications; He is looking for those who are willing. He used a boy’s lunch to feed thousands and a small army to win a mighty battle. He can use you, no matter how little you feel you have to offer. Trust Him, step forward, and watch Him do the impossible through you.
Prayer
Father, thank You for reminding me that You don’t need much to do great things. Help me to trust You with the little I have and believe that You can multiply it for Your glory. Take my weaknesses, my doubts, and my insufficiencies, and use them as a testimony of Your power. Teach me to rely on You completely and to step forward in faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
