Scripture: "Then Moses said to Him, 'If Your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here." — Exodus 33:15 (NIV)

Devotional Thoughts

As we step into 2025, it is crucial to approach this new year with a mindset of dependence on God. Life is often described as a journey, and each year is a new chapter filled with unknowns. Moses understood this truth when God instructed him to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land. Instead of charging ahead, Moses made a heartfelt request—he asked for God’s presence to go with them.

This request demonstrates humility and wisdom. Moses knew that success, security, and provision were only guaranteed if God Himself guided their steps. The same applies to us. Without God’s presence, we are prone to fear, confusion, and failure. But when God is at the center of our journey, we can move forward confidently, knowing He is our guide and protector.

Will there be storms along the way? Absolutely. Even Jesus' disciples faced storms while following Him (Mark 4:35-41). Yet, in that story, Jesus calmed the storm with a word, proving that no challenge is too great for Him. Likewise, the challenges of 2025 may be unknown to us, but they are not unknown to God. He is fully aware of every obstacle and has the power to turn trials into triumphs.

Practical Reflection

Closing Thoughts

Life without God’s presence can feel like wandering in a wilderness. But with God leading the way, even the most difficult terrains become passable, and every challenge turns into an opportunity for growth and testimony. As we journey through 2025, let’s echo Moses’ prayer: “Lord, if Your presence does not go with us, do not send us.” God’s presence transforms ordinary paths into extraordinary journeys.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for the gift of a new year. As I step into 2025, I invite Your presence to go with me. Just as You guided Moses and calmed the storms for the disciples, guide me and calm my fears. Help me to trust You in every circumstance and rely on Your Word as my guide. May this year be filled with Your glory and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
