Scripture: "For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." – 1 Corinthians 6:20 (NKJV)

Devotional Thoughts

In our world today, insurance is something many people rely on for protection, security, and peace of mind. It is a tangible assurance that when unforeseen circumstances arise, there is a measure of security to fall back on. However, even the best insurance plans in the world have limits. They can expire, have exclusions, or fail to cover the unexpected. But as children of the Most High, we have an eternal insurance that surpasses all earthly coverage—the insurance of our lives through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

When Jesus died on the cross and rose again, He paid a premium that no human could ever afford—a price for our sins, reconciliation with God, and everlasting life. This premium was not paid with gold, silver, or currency, but with His own blood. His sacrifice ensured that those who believe in Him would have an assured future—eternal life with Him, protection from the ultimate consequence of sin, and the love of God poured out endlessly.

To be "insured" by Christ’s sacrifice means that we are covered not just for this life but for eternity. It means that in times of trouble, we have the assurance of God’s presence, strength, and redemption. We do not walk alone because our premium is paid, and the guarantee is eternal.

Practical Reflections

Know Your Coverage: Just as it is important to understand the terms of any insurance policy, we must also grow in understanding our "coverage" in Christ. His sacrifice assures us of forgiveness, grace, and peace. Spend time in the Word to know what Christ has freely given you.

Walk with Assurance: When fear, anxiety, or trials come, remember that your life is insured by Christ. Though circumstances may be daunting, the assurance of God’s unfailing love and purpose remains your unshakable foundation.

Live for His Glory: Since the premium has already been paid, live a life that honours the one who paid it. Let gratitude guide your thoughts, words, and actions. Your insured life should reflect Christ’s love, hope, and faithfulness in every circumstance.

Closing Thoughts

The cost of our insurance—our salvation and redemption—was not free. It cost Jesus His life. Yet, He paid it willingly and completely, so that we could live freely. As insured children of the Most High, we are called to glorify God in all we do, knowing that His love covers every need, every sin, and every moment of our lives. Let us walk in that assurance, reflecting His light and love in a world that desperately needs to know Him.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the precious sacrifice of Jesus Christ, who paid the premium for my life. I am grateful that I am insured under Your love and grace. Help me to walk in the assurance of this truth, knowing that I am never alone. Guide my thoughts, words, and actions to glorify You. In moments of fear or uncertainty, remind me of the eternal coverage that comes through Jesus. May I live with gratitude and faith, reflecting Your goodness to all. In Jesus' name, Amen.
