✨ Devotional Thoughts
There’s a quiet ache in the human soul—a longing to belong, to be seen, to be known, and to be restored. Whether we admit it or not, we all start from a place of being lost. Not just lost in direction or in life’s purpose, but lost in our very identity—cut off from the presence of God because of sin.
This began all the way back in the Garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sin entered the world, and with it came separation. That one choice caused all humanity to inherit spiritual lostness—a broken relationship, a wandering heart, and a distance from the One who created us.
But God didn’t leave us in that state. From the very beginning, His heart was to find us. His mercy reached beyond our rebellion. And in His great love, He sent His only Son—not to condemn us—but to seek us, to save us, and to bring us home.
Jesus came walking through the wilderness of this world, calling out to every lost soul: “Where are you?” Just like God called out to Adam in the garden, He now calls to us through Christ. And when we respond to that voice, we discover that we were never out of His reach—only waiting to be found.
Luke 19 tells the story of a man named Zacchaeus—a tax collector, despised, dishonest, and spiritually lost. He had everything money could buy, but he was empty. Still, something stirred in his heart when he heard that Jesus was coming to town. He climbed a tree just to catch a glimpse of Him. Jesus looked up, called Zacchaeus by name, and invited Himself into his home—and into his heart. That encounter changed Zacchaeus forever. He was no longer the man who lived in shadows. He had been found by the Light of the World.
🕊️ Practical Reflection
Maybe you’ve felt like Zacchaeus—hiding behind your past, your mistakes, or your guilt. Or maybe you’ve just been drifting, quietly lost without even realizing it. No matter how far you feel, Jesus is still seeking. He sees you, He knows you, and He wants you.
Being “found” by God isn’t about religion—it’s about a relationship. It’s about coming home to the One who never stopped looking for you.
Let His grace reach you today. Stop running. Stop hiding. He already knows your name, and He’s already calling you to come down from the tree. You are not too far gone—He has found you.
🔚 Closing Thoughts
We were all lost once—but now we are found, not because of anything we did, but because of everything Christ did. Let us never lose the wonder of His pursuit. Let us live each day in gratitude that we have been seen, sought, and saved by a loving Savior.
🙏 Prayer
Father God, thank You for not leaving me in my lostness. Thank You for pursuing me with relentless love. I was wandering, broken, and far from You, but You found me. You called me by name and invited me into Your grace. I surrender my heart again today. Help me to walk in the joy of being found and to share that hope with others who are still searching. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
