đź“– Scripture:

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him." — Psalm 34:8 (NIV)

"Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep. You, Lord, preserve both people and animals." — Psalm 36:5-6 (NIV)

✨ Devotional Thoughts

God’s goodness isn’t always loud or obvious — sometimes it’s quiet, unfolding in the backdrop of life’s uncertainties and losses. It’s deeper than we often perceive and broader than we can imagine. It is not just seen in open doors or bright seasons, but in the steady presence of God through every twist and turn of our journey.

Ruth’s story is a beautiful testament to this kind of goodness. She was a Moabite widow with no future in sight. She chose to follow her mother-in-law, Naomi, to a foreign land, leaving behind all that was familiar. From a human perspective, it seemed like loss upon loss. But behind the scenes, God’s goodness was orchestrating something greater.

Through a series of seemingly ordinary events—gleaning in a field, a providential encounter with Boaz, and a bold act of faith—Ruth became part of God’s redemption story. Not only was she blessed with a new life and a loving husband, but she was also woven into the lineage of King David… and ultimately, Jesus Christ.

God’s goodness was at work in Ruth’s grief, in her unknowns, and in her everyday obedience. That’s the kind of goodness that runs deep — beyond our emotions, beyond our expectations, and beyond what we can see in the moment.

🕊️ Practical Reflection

🔚 Closing Thoughts

God’s goodness is not always wrapped in grand miracles. Sometimes, it’s hidden in the faithful steps of a woman like Ruth, the quiet nudging of the Spirit, or the gentle unfolding of a new season. Don’t underestimate what God is doing in the unseen. His goodness runs deeper than pain, wider than loss, and greater than your present view.

🙏 Prayer

Lord, thank You that Your goodness is never limited by what I can see or understand. Even when I walk through loss, grief, or the unknown, You are working in ways far deeper than I realize. Help me to trust You like Ruth did — to keep walking, trusting, and believing that You are good. Open my eyes to Your quiet faithfulness today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
