Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” — Isaiah 6:8 (NIV)
đź’ Devotional Thoughts
Yesterday, we reflected on how each believer is a unique and vital part of the Body of Christ. But being part of the body isn’t passive. God invites us to take part in His mission. Today, we move from identity to availability—from being part of the body to being used by God.
When God asked in Isaiah 6:8, “Whom shall I send?” He wasn’t just speaking to a prophet. It was a call that echoes through generations, reaching every believer willing to respond. Isaiah’s response—“Here am I. Send me.”—wasn't about qualifications. It was about willingness.
Let me share something personal. Several years ago, my senior pastor asked me to lead a new church. When I considered the enormous task—planting a new church, the weight of responsibility—I declined. It felt too big. But the senior pastor gently insisted, saying, “God sent me, and I believe God sent me to you.” He waited for three months while I wrestled with the decision.
Eventually, I surrendered. I said yes. That church, which started with just 5 members, grew to over 300 in no time. I almost missed the opportunity because of fear and hesitation. But here’s the truth: God can’t be stranded. If we say no, He will raise up someone else. But what a joy it is to be part of His plan when we say yes.
We see a similar moment in Ananias (Acts 9). God told him to go and lay hands on Saul—a man infamous for persecuting Christians. Ananias was fearful, but he obeyed. And through his obedience, Saul became Paul—one of the greatest apostles in Christian history. Ananias was not a well-known apostle, but his yes shaped history.
🔍 Practical Reflection
Ask yourself today: Am I truly available for God to use? Not just when it’s easy or convenient, but when it’s scary or inconvenient? God is not looking for the most talented, but the most willing.
Maybe God is calling you to something outside your comfort zone. Maybe He's asking for a “yes” that you’ve been delaying. Don’t miss your moment. If God is calling, it means He has already prepared the way.
🧡 Closing Thoughts
You are not just part of the Body—you are an instrument God longs to use. When you say yes, lives change—including your own. If you hesitate, know this: God’s work will continue with or without you, but you were created to be part of it. Like Isaiah, and like Ananias, will you answer His call?
🙏 Prayer
Lord, I don’t want to miss the opportunities You’ve prepared for me. Help me to move past fear, hesitation, and doubt. Give me a willing heart. Let me be like Isaiah and say, “Here I am. Send me.” Use me in ways I cannot imagine, and may Your name be glorified through my obedience. Amen.
